The draft Uganda Standard is available for comments at the UNBS Resource centre-Standards house located on Plot 2-12 Bypass Link, Bweyogrere Industrial Area. Persons who would like to make comments may obtain the draft Standard from the above address.

LIST OF STANDARDS FOR PUBLIC REVIEW, 29TH JULY, 2015.

1) DUSISO 10439-1, Petroleum, chemical and gas service industries ⎯ Centrifugal compressors

Scope

This International Standard specifies minimum requirements and gives recommendations for axial compressors, single-shaft, and integrally geared process centrifugal compressors, and expander compressors for special purpose applications that handle gas or process air in the petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries. This part of ISO 10439 specifies general requirements applicable to all such machines.

This International Standard does not apply to fans (these are covered by API 673) or blowers that develop less than 34 kPa (5 psi) pressure rise above atmospheric pressure. This International Standard also does not apply to packaged, integrally geared centrifugal plant, and instrument air compressors, which are covered by API 672. Hot gas expanders over 300 °C (570 °F) are not covered by this International Standard

 

2) DUS ISO 10439-2, Petroleum, chemical and gas service industries ⎯ Centrifugal compressors

Scope

This part of ISO 10439 specifies minimum requirements and gives recommendations for axial compressors, single-shaft, and integrally geared process centrifugal compressors and expander-compressors for special purpose applications that handle gas or process air in the petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries. This part of ISO 10439 specifies requirements for non-integrally geared centrifugal and axial compressors, in addition to the general requirements specified in ISO 10439-1. These machines do not have gears integral with their casing but can have external gears

 

3) DUS ISO 13707, Petroleum and natural gas industries ⎯ Reciprocating compressors

Scope

This International Standard covers the minimum requirements for reciprocating compressors and their drivers used in the petroleum and natural gas industries with either lubricated or no lubricated cylinders. This International Standard may be used for other services or in other industries by agreement. Compressors covered by this International Standard are moderate to low-speed and in critical services. Also included are related lubricating systems, controls, instrumentation, intercoolers, after coolers, pulsation suppression devices and other auxiliary equipment. Excluded are integral gas-engine driven compressors, packaged high-speed separable engine-driven reciprocating gas compressors, compressors with single-acting trunk-type (automotive-type) pistons that also serve as crossheads and either plant or instrument air compressors that discharge at gauge pressures of 9 bar or below. Also excluded are gas engine and steam engine drivers

 

4) DUS ISO 13709, Centrifugal pumps for petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries

Scope

This International Standard specifies requirements for centrifugal pumps, including pumps running in reverse as hydraulic power recovery turbines, for use in petroleum, petrochemical and gas industry process services.

This International Standard is applicable to overhung pumps, between-bearings pumps and vertically suspended pumps. Clause 9 provides requirements applicable to specific types of pump. 

All other clauses of this International Standard are applicable to all pump types. Illustrations are provided of the various specific pump types and the designations assigned to a specific type

 

5) DUS ISO 14313, Petroleum and natural gas industries ⎯ Pipeline transportation systems ⎯ Pipeline valves

Scope

This International Standard specifies requirements and provides recommendations for the design, manufacturing, testing and documentation of ball, check, gate and plug valves for application in pipeline systems meeting the requirements of ISO 13623 for the petroleum and natural gas industries.

This International Standard is not applicable to subsea pipeline valves, as they are covered by a separate International Standard (ISO 14723).

This International Standard is not applicable to valves for pressure ratings exceeding PN 420  

 

6) DUS ISO 10439-3, Petroleum, chemical and gas service industries ⎯ Centrifugal compressors

Scope

This part of ISO 10439 specifies minimum requirements and gives recommendations for axial compressors, single-shaft and integrally geared process centrifugal compressors, and expander compressors for special purpose applications that handle gas or process air in the petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries. This part of ISO 10439 specifies integrally geared centrifugal compressors in conjunction with ISO 10439‑1

 

7) DUS ISO 15589-1, Petroleum and natural gas industries ⎯ Cathodic protection of pipeline transportation systems ⎯ Part 1: On-land pipelines

Scope

This part of ISO 15589 specifies requirements and gives recommendations for the pre-installation surveys, design, materials, equipment, installation, commissioning, operation, inspection, and maintenance of cathodic protection systems for on-land pipelines, as defined in ISO 13623   for the petroleum, petrochemical, and natural gas industries, 

All contents of this part of ISO 15589 are applicable to on-land pipelines and piping systems used in other industries and transporting other media such as industrial gases, waters, or slurries.

This part of ISO 15589 applies to buried pipelines, landfalls of offshore pipeline sections protected by on-shore based cathodic protection installations, and to immersed sections of on-land pipelines such as river or lake crossing

 

8) DUS ISO 15589-2, Petroleum and natural gas industries ⎯ Cathodic protection of pipeline transportation systems ⎯ Part 2: Offshore pipelines

Scope

This part of ISO 15589 specifies requirements and gives recommendations for the pre-installation surveys, design, materials, equipment, fabrication, installation, commissioning, operation, inspection and maintenance of cathodic protection (CP) systems for offshore pipelines for the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries as defined in ISO 13623.

This part of ISO 15589 is applicable to carbon steel, stainless steel and flexible pipelines in offshore service.

This part of ISO 15589 is applicable to retrofits, modifications and repairs made to existing pipeline systems.

This part of ISO 15589 is applicable to all types of seawater and seabed environments encountered in submerged conditions and on risers up to mean water level

 

9) DUS ISO 15590-1, Petroleum and natural gas industries ⎯ Induction bends, fittings and flanges for pipeline transportation systems ⎯ Part 1: Induction bends

Scope

This part of ISO 15590 specifies the technical delivery conditions for bends made by the induction bending process for use in pipeline transportation systems for the petroleum and natural gas industries as defined in ISO 13623.

This part of ISO 15590 is applicable to induction bends made from seamless and welded pipe of unalloyed or low-alloy steels

  This part of ISO 15590 specifies the requirements for the manufacture of two product   specification levels (PSLs) of induction bend corresponding to product specification levels given for pipe in ISO 3183.

 

10) DUS ISO 15590-2, Petroleum and natural gas industries ⎯ Induction bends, fittings and flanges for pipeline transportation systems ⎯ Part 2: Fittings

Scope

This part of ISO 15590 specifies the technical delivery conditions for unalloyed or low-alloy steel seamless and welded pipeline fittings for use in pipeline transportation systems for the petroleum and natural gas industries as defined in ISO 13623.

This part of ISO 15590 is applicable to welding-end fittings such as elbows, caps, tees, single or multiple extruded headers, reducers, and transition sections made from seamless and welded pipe of unalloyed or low-alloy steels.

This part of ISO 15590 specifies three classes of fitting corresponding to increasing quality requirements in accordance with the technical delivery conditions of ISO 3183 for pipe  

 

11) DUS ISO 15590-3, Petroleum and natural gas industries ⎯ Induction bends, fittings and flanges for pipeline transportation systems ⎯ Part 3: Flanges

Scope

This part of ISO 15590 applies to weld neck and blind flanges (full face, raised face, and RTJ groove) as well as anchor, swivel-ring flanges and orifice flanges.

This part of ISO 15590 specifies the technical requirements for carbon steel and low-alloy steel forged flanges for use in pipeline transportation systems for the petroleum and natural gas industries as defined in ISO 13623.

This part of ISO 15590 designates those categories of flanges that meet the industry's need to match ISO 3183 pipe. These flanges are for normal and low-temperature service and include supplementary requirements where required for sour service

 

12) DUS ISO 10431, Petroleum and natura1 gas industries - Pumping units – Specification

Scope

This International Standard lays down specification covering the design and rating of pumping units

 

13) DUS ISO 13706,Petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries — Air-cooled heat exchangers

Scope

This International Standard gives requirements and recommendations for the design, materials, fabrication, inspection, testing and preparation for shipment of air-cooled heat exchangers for use in the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries.

This International Standard is applicable to air-cooled heat exchangers with horizontal bundles, but the basic concepts can also be applied to other configurations

14) DUS ISO 16812,Petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries — Shell and-tube heat exchangers

Scope:

This International Standard specifies requirements and gives recommendations for the mechanical design, material selection, fabrication, inspection, testing and preparation for shipment of shell-and-tube heat exchangers for the petroleum, petrochemical and natural gas industries.

This International Standard is applicable to the following types of shell-and-tube heat exchangers: heaters, condensers, coolers and reboilers.

This International Standard is not applicable to vacuum-operated steam surface condensers and feed-water heaters
